Originally conceived to accompany a lounge chair, Diving Board marked Patricia Buse's first exploration of technology-assisted design. Developed through sketches and 3D digital modeling, the piece allowed Buse to study its form from every angle before fabrication. Originally titled Z-Side, it was unexpectedly renamed Diving Board after a camera assistant coined the phrase during a photoshoot; a name that captured the sculpture's distinctive silhouette.
